Stefan Maurel: My Top Seven LCM Moments

London Collections Men were a couple of weeks ago now, but we remember running all other London to attend shows, catwalks and presentations like it was yesterday.
After four exhilarating days we were left with many amazing souvenirs amd memories. So I thought it would be a good idea to share my top ten best moments with you.
The Most Stylish Party: The Gentleman Blogger's 4th Anniversary
Matthew Zorpa, founder of The Gentleman Blogger, celebrated his 4th blog anniversary at the W London Hotel. A bar in Room 913 was set up serving glamorous champagne from Charles Heidsieck for guests to enjoy whilst enjoying DJ Jerry Bouthier music. A very well dressed crowd indeed for a very electric evening, it's not one I will forget anytime soon.
The Biggest Party: Moët & Chandon
We, at StylePilot, are champagne lovers (aren't we all?). At Victoria House, Moët & Chandon held the (probably) biggest LCM party. Smiles were on all the faces, as glasses of chilled champagne was held by every free hand. Even though we had unlimited champagne, no hangovers were reported the following morning.
The Best Surprise: Thomas Pink
I wasn't expecting to, but I really liked the models sat on suspended wooden chairs. They were wrapped in traditional Bengal Stripe fabric and were wearing the finest business shirting and accessories. What a better way for Thomas Pink to showcase their immaculately cut and finished formal shirts?
The Best Discovery: Sorensen
We came accross Sorenson at 180 Strand, and I have to say they're left a lasting impression. Their collection was inspired from historic workwear garments: the DRIVER, the ENGINEER, the DANCER, the BUTCHER, the OFFICER and the PAINTER. Interestingly, the collection was created for men, but perfectly suits women too.
The Best Outfit: Turnbull & Asser
At StylePilot we've always been huge supporters of the Siren Suit (commonly called a Boiler Suit or an Overall Suit). Again TurnBull & Asser mastered blurring the lines between formal and informal. I really enjoyed the presentation held at Christie's in Mayfair as it gave me lots of office wear inspiration.
The Cosiest Event: Gandhum
At an intimately luxurious event held at Claridges, the StylePilot team saw the launch of Gandhum SS17, and we were impressed. A Mediterranean themed collection was shown in a southern European café setting; the collection introduces a variety of lightweight sustainable fabrics with an effortless Mediterranean style and contrasting colour palettes made for some artful, considered combinations. A very special moment indeed.
The Best Catwalk: Songzio
A beautiful way to "end" LCM - since it was my last catwalk show - was the Songzio SS17 Collection. I really enjoyed every bit of it; from the beautiful fabrics, the colours (including brighter hues of aquamarine), the slick lines, the patterns and graphics. Just sublime.
And that is it for another season, I wonder how the designers will top SS17....
